PANKINS-DSR
DESCRIPTION
PANKINS – DSR is a combination of pantoprazole and domperidone. Pantoprazole is a potent proton pump inhibitor. It inhibits the H + /K + – ATPase enzyme (proton pump) irreversibly and blocks the final step of acid secretion. Domperidone is a potent dopamine receptor (D2) antagonist. It increases motility of GI tract by inhibiting the action of dopamine and fastens gastric emptying. Domperidone increases Lower esophageal sphincter pressure and prevents reflux of stomach content into esophagus. Domperidone also inhibits the D2 receptor in the chemoreceptor trigger zone thereby it prevents nausea and vomiting.
